The first success comes at the end of the 1940s. A fruitful period is associated with the formation of a new capital of the country, Brasilia. The fantastic city emerged in the late 1950s, thanks to the will of President Juscelino Kubichek de Oliveira, its look was determined by architects Lucio Costa and Oscar Niemeyer. It is not surprising that a fast-paced policy has become a magnet for talented and receptive pros. Avant-garde architecture required new furniture, modern chairs, armchairs and tables. However, the modesty and purity of form, which the French modernists were so passionate about after the war, did not become the ideal of Latin America. Here appeared elegant items of large sizes, ideal for crowded feasts and hot siests. Many models give an experienced eye, a trained hand of Europeans.
