Resort Borgo Egnazia occupies a considerable territory. Once upon a time in these places stood the Roman outpost of Egnasia, and the resort was named after him. Now all local communities have a relation to it: the main building, in which some of the rooms are located, is located near the ruins of Egnazia, there is a SPA-center and a kids club in the village of the same name, and in the neighboring village of Tsimino they grow in the kitchen of the hotel, and in San Domenico a golf club is open.
In Borgo Egnazia, everything is authentic, Apulian - and the stone from which buildings are built, and the products from which they are prepared, and the ingredients that are used in SPA procedures. The owners of the hotel, the Melpignano family, wanted, on the one hand, to show local traditions, on the other - to make a complex in the spirit of ecotourism. You can settle either in the main building, or in neighboring villas, or even in antique-styled townhouses, where you can find everything you need, including Wi-Fi and iPod ports.
The resort is famous for its 18-hole golf course (European golf championship competitions are held here), as well as a culinary school. Adults and children are taught to cook local dishes, such as calzone (pizza pie made from two thin sheets of dough with vegetable filling) or the traditional snack Polpi arriciati, which translates as "rolled octopus".
