The interior of the coffee and pastry shop "Le Gato" (23 Tverskaya St.) is completely determined by its location - this is the cafe at the Stanislavsky Moscow Theater. Before the performance, the door is opened next to the bar, then the coffee shop and theatrical lobby become a single zone. Chess field on the floor and coffered ceiling, dark red walls, Viennese chairs and lamps Art Deco ... "Le Gato" simulates a typical café entourage, which for centuries exist at famous European theaters and operas. After the reconstruction of the 50s of the last century, there are no authentic details left here, not even archival photographs - only drawings. Therefore, "Le Gato" - from the planning decision to the finishing work - what is called a "remake", but without the negative hue that usually accompanies the word. This café-lobby is a successful hoax, in which the architect of "Le Gato" Mikhail Dautov managed to observe the measure of taste and respect for the historical object. Without imposing co-authorships with the architects of the theater, without violating its original atmosphere, he built a space at the same time expressive and calm, modern and authentic.
