"Fashion for England" has always existed. More precisely, not even fashion, but the idea of a particular lifestyle. And it's not a matter of adherence to traditional fabrics in a cage, excellent English porcelain or sympathies to the radicalism of modern British designers. The main thing is that innate sensitivity to the combination of "incompatible" things and colors, which allows you to balance on the edge of the generally accepted taste, keeping, nevertheless, within its framework. It is like an ability acquired with a classic upbringing to choose the only right tone of conversation. So, let's talk ...A little about the authors ... When the owners of one of the Moscow apartments through an architectural firm turned to Stephen Ryan, an English designer of world renown, the firm’s experts already had experience working with a celebrity. Ryan created the concept of the future interior, and its detailed design and implementation, which required complex design and artistic solutions, belong to the architect-designer Vyacheslav Khomyakov, who heads D.S.Design, and the architect of the company Svetlana Buravtsova.About theatricality ... One can only wonder how natural theatrical effects look in this interior. Now quite often they talk about the "directing" and "dramaturgy" of space. But perhaps it is rare to find such a logical and emotional development, which is achieved in the guest part of this particular apartment. There are practically no trifles here: all the details, from the portal to the table lamps, are large, and the person unwittingly adjusts to their wide “step”. Symmetrically placed armchairs and "empire" tables in the living room and in the bedroom, be sure to pair the table lamps set a special, solemn rhythm of movement. "Hyperscale" can be fully felt in the living room. The silhouette of a huge cabinet for video and audio equipment, made according to an individual project, echoes a giant portal, precisely inscribed in the design of a sloping attic ceiling. The mirror "snag" on the "torn" pediment of the portal works flawlessly: you can understand that this is not a space at all receding into the distance, but an illusionist stunt that can only be done by climbing the stairs to the second floor. By the way, the staircase, when viewed from the living room, “merges” with a wall covered with light silk. Due to this, the holistic impression of sitting, the official part of this room, is not disturbed.About literary ... The atmosphere of unobtrusive associations and fantasies is a characteristic feature of this interior. Spatial "hyperbole", "citing" styles - here all the time I want to use literary terminology. So, the owners call the cozy guest room in the provincial style the "grandmother's room".About Charm and Game ... ... or rather, about the special charm of this interior, arising from the paradoxical at first glance color combinations and decorative techniques. In this "aggravation" there is a special chic of the postmodern freedom of dealing with space. Of course, the game with the design and decoration is exquisitely manifested in pieces of furniture with a classic "facade" that hides complex internal mechanisms. However, the furniture of modern design is completely freely placed among the classic "replicas" - sometimes unexpectedly, but always interesting.About "privacy" - "privacy" ... The master bedroom and bathroom, located on the second floor, are conceived as a "jewel" - with a play of gold and silver and exotic feather lampshades, with iridescent silk fabrics and flickering crystal, with an elegant chest of drawers of Rajan's design and an unusual dressing room behind latticed doors. In such an environment, the private life of the family really becomes a sophisticated theater - but not for everyone, but only for a narrow circle of people who are apt to aesthetics who have managed to find the right tone of conversation ...
