Ikebana is one of the oldest forms of art in Japan. In Russia, the ikebana became known in the 60s of the twentieth century, when Moscow was visited by Sofa Tesigahara, the “Japanese Picasso of Flowers”. Showing his work in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. A. Pushkin in 1968 had a tremendous resonance, and it was from him that the Sogetsu tradition of the Russian ikebana school originated. This year, ikebana admirers celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the master, and to mark this event, an exhibition called “The Garden of Impressions”, organized by the Landscape Design School at the Moscow Architectural Institute, was held at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. On the main staircase of the museum, strange objects “grew” - either giant exotic flowers, or three-dimensional paintings. These are works-reflections of young phytodesigners on the theme of the painting of impressionists, made of multi-colored bamboo stalks and fresh flowers. The Blue Dancers Degas froze on the flight of stairs, and at the top, under the shadow of the famous colonnade of the museum, the Rouen Cathedral appeared based on the famous painting by Claude Monet. Each composition is the result of a careful coloristic and formal analysis of famous works, shifting them from the language of painting to the language of flowers. As a result, the beloved works of the Impressionists received a new perception in the refined and sophisticated works of Russian phytodesigners. Another solemn event was timed to the action - the presentation of the Order of the “Sacred Treasure of Gold and Silver Rays” to Nina Vladimirovna Naumova. This honorary award Nina Vladimirovna received from the Japanese government for outstanding achievements in the field of ikebana art - she founded the first flower arrangement courses in 1970 and has been their permanent leader for more than twenty years. Many Russian florists consider her their true mentor.
