Architect Nadezhda Chernigov creates picturesque, surprisingly finely designed palace interiors. We asked her about the principles of working with the interior and how generally life in the palace can correspond to the modern way of life. Tells Nadezhda Chernigov

Today's palace style does not contradict the needs of man. It fits perfectly with the open plan, and with modern technical stuffing - any, up to the "smart home". And from an artistic point of view, the palace is a stylization, and therefore it does not require either fijm, or crinolines, or the manner of a sample before the last century.

I attach great importance to the fabrics in the interior, their color, texture, historical identity. I worked with the archives of the company PRELLE, selected fabrics for my objects. For example, silk with a "river" pattern of the Madame Pompadour era.

Never one wallpaper can not be compared with a cloth. Silk fabric in a special way refracts light, flickers, goes into semitones. And to the touch it is special. And you can not be afraid of dust - now under the fabric make the lining, which are impregnated with special compounds.

If you glue the wallpaper, then be sure to handmade. My favorite brand is ZUBER. The ornament is printed manually, sequentially from several boards. Drawings - from ancient archives. Yes, there is a mismatch of the ornament, but this is what gives the wallpaper a special charm. The interior must be a good painting. For example, I like the interior painting of the French artist Gabriel (1885-1985). He knew how to prescribe details! (Which is completely uncharacteristic for contemporary artists.) I like furniture, porcelain, and light, which in terms of level approach the works of art. Among the furniture brands I would call MERONI FRANCESCO, COLOMBO FURNITURE, ANGELO CAPPELLINI, BROTHERS RADICE. Among the porcelain - MEISSEN, HEREND. And the best table lamps, in my opinion, are obtained from antique porcelain vases.
