The log house is like a log house, only the wall facing the garden is completely glass. You are standing in the cold and you see how the fire in the fireplace licks the wood, how cozy the hot coffee is on the table. And it seems that you hear the crackle of wood, you smell the smoke mixed with coffee ... This is what the architect wanted

SON: Mikhail, how did you get the idea to create such a house?

 - This is a holiday home, "holiday house". It is good to come here to rest at the end of the work week or to have a party with friends. In warm weather, you can spend a good vacation. Nature is necessary for outdoor recreation, and there is plenty of it in the house. Yes, I did not make a reservation, it was in the house. His inner space and the surrounding garden are one. To achieve this connection, I used a glass wall, which plays an important role in the architecture and design of the whole house. This design allows the environment to penetrate into the interior. It is no coincidence that in advertising there is often a method of combining a residential interior with the edge of a forest, a beach, and a garden. The effect is instant. So my idea was this. Still, of course, there was an architectural task - to prove that in a traditional wooden log house there can be a modern interior. The construction of the log does not necessarily resemble a tower or a fabulous hut. This may be a modern cottage. Due to the limited length, the log does not allow to create large spaces, but the rooms are quite voluminous. There are, of course, various tricks, such as building up, but one cannot build up without end; a log cabin can crumble. In general, the second idea, why I made this house so, can be formulated as follows: "Log house - this is fashionable."

S: Outside the logs are dark brown, like all tarred log cabins. Why are logs white inside the house?

White color was selected intuitively. Probably for the sake of light. After all, most of the year we have winter and autumn, overcast and rainy. The walls and floor of the house are covered with natural white water-based stain, which helped to preserve the smell of natural wood.

S: Michael, tell us about the layout of the house.

 - Conventionally, the house can be divided into a hallway, or, if to use Russian terminology, an canopy; hall that combines the kitchen, living room and dining room; minder, which goes to the sauna, and a bedroom (on the second floor). The house has a garage, and above it is a bedroom for the caretaker. Due to the congestion of the hall space, the stairs leading to the bedroom had to be made "invisible" so that it did not take up much space and did not distract attention. Therefore, we had to abandon the traditional for the Russian house massive wooden stairs in favor of the "air". If you look at such a ladder in profile, only its contours are visible. She seems to be floating in the air. Separately, I would like to tell you about the minder. This concept is taken from a Turkish house: low sofas littered with cushions, and in the center is a podium where a hookah is placed, tea trays, and fruits. In this house the miner is not simple: if you remove the flooring from it, it will turn into a SPA with a hydromassage pool. The floor in the room is double-layered: underneath is a heated tile with special ventilation, on top are wooden oak shields. But oak can only conditionally be called a tree. It is processed with a special compound and calcined in a furnace at a very high temperature, which changes the molecular structure of wood. Such treatment protects it from rotting, which is important for a room with a pool. There is a fireplace with a closed firebox. It is laid out of brick and covered with light plaster, resembles a stove-furnace. It is an antique chest of drawers. An Indian lamp made of dark straw can be used as a screen.

Project author Михаил Даутов: "In Russia, log houses have always been installed - they retain heat well, do not let in moisture and have natural beauty. While making this house, I wanted to show that wood is a modern material that allows building modern constructions. a kind of wooden lining resembling blinds. We used it for interior decoration of doors and partitions "
