In the famous metropolitan House on the Embankment opened a new restaurant "Rice and Fish." Riga architect Yuri Andreev is familiar to Muscovites in already famous restaurants - "Firewood" and "Vanil". The new "culinary" product - "Rice and Fish", according to the author, is the most "constructivist" and "Japanese" of his projects. Metal, glass and wood, modern ergonomics, "openness" of architectural structures - all this makes the interior the undisputed successor to the aesthetics that were once avant-garde. Simplicity, functionality, laconicism - three whales of constructivism - the direction that originated in the first quarter of the XX century and again became popular a hundred years later. In this case, the choice of style is not accidental: the house was built by the outstanding Soviet architect Iofan, and the part in which the restaurant is located - the cinema "Udarnik" - is rightfully considered one of the most original constructivist structures. "Constructive start" bears in itself and the sign in black and white, like a revived piece of Moscow in the 20s. But most importantly, the interior of the restaurant demonstrates the golden rule of art of the 20th century, expressed even by the great Ludwig van der Rohe: "Less is more", which means "The less, the better."
