Designing an extensive workspace is a specific task. In the case when the office building is wholly owned by one company, accommodates all corporate structures and is located in an industrial area, the complexity of this task is tripled. The architect who solves it has to simultaneously deal with the facelessness of the urban environment and submit to stringent corporate requirements. In the office of the Moscow-based Descartes company, these difficulties were overcome simply and gracefully. Architect Natalia Pede, who had to work with the finished “box,” made graffiti and wall painting through the interior motif. The solution is not only ingenious (especially if we bear in mind that the company sells varnishes and paints), but also practical - the office walls are visual material for dealers and wholesalers.
