The house on Prechistenka, in which, after a recent renovation, the design gallery ALTAGAMMA is located, belongs to Moscow houses built after the fire of 1812. Of famous people, the artist Valentin Serov lived with his family. From the facade the house looks very elegant and noble. Inside it is a single large space with many windows opposite each other. "On the one hand, this is good, - says the author of the project Valentina Kolesina, - and on the other - problematic. Narrow walls and oncoming streams of light during the day "perevechivat" space. Hence, decorating techniques - draperies on the windows facing the courtyard (to dim the light and remove attention from monotonously alternating windows), and the division of space with fabric draperies. When changing the composition, improvised walls can change their position. Moreover, such draperies (including those on the windows) not only serve as a good background for furniture, but also unite space. Some emphasis in ALTAGAMMA was placed on the floors. On the first floor there are Belgian self-leveling floors of a complex tinting, and the stairs and the ground floor are covered with sheet metal. With the connecting element of the ground floor we made the reception desk from natural stone. It is this one that does not allow the interior to decay, combining with its color and texture rather diverse collections of furniture that surround it.
