On one of the picturesque tourist routes in Norway, an unusual observation deck appeared. Surrounded by steep mountain gorges Gaularfjellet, raised to an altitude of 1500 meters, the original structure has become a remarkable example of modern architecture integrated into the landscape. Competition for the construction of the site was announced in 2008. He was won by the Norwegian architectural bureau Code arkitektur. The object was named Utsikten, in translation from Norwegian - “view”. The concrete platform is made in the form of a triangle with three outgoing "rays" - one of them is flat, the other two are raised and equipped with steps. Tourists can climb the curved up "beam." The authors of the project expect that over time the gray concrete structure will be covered with vegetation and merge with the surrounding mountain landscape. The site is also equipped with parking for cars and buses.
