When designing the apartments, the architects set a goal to open the living space to natural light as much as possible. They significantly increased the size of the windows and made all the rooms in the apartment open, communicating with each other, so that on the way the sun's rays would have as few barriers as possible. Getting here, the light easily spreads through the rooms. This is especially noticeable in the example of the hallway and the boardwalk along the rounded wall, which are illuminated by the windows of the living room and the office opposite it. The decoration of the apartment was also subordinated to the main goal. The walls of white and light gray reflect the rays of the sun and absorb the colors of the street. They are painted in shades of sunset in the evening or dazzle with their whiteness in the morning.
It is important that due to the open planning, the architects managed to visually push the boundaries of the residential area. A very large bedroom, which is in the same volume as the bathroom and dressing room. But the living room looks particularly spacious. It is combined with the dining room and kitchen. In addition, thanks to the extended window openings, the loggia also became its logical extension. An important role in the design of the room also plays a huge mirror, which decorated one of the walls. Reflections in it create indoors the effect of an enfilade of continuing space. And a little trick, which went to the architects, it becomes noticeable not immediately.
In addition to all the architects placed in the apartment a number of objects that support its connection with nature and the external environment. On a broken concrete podium in the living room there is a small winter garden. The partition and the office are separated by a partition, which is a composition of frosted glass and sculpted objects resembling trees made of concrete. In an allegorical form, the theme of nature is supported by a reproduction of the painting “Spring” by Sandro Botticelli. Well, the final chord in this symphony was an impressive view of the river and the surroundings of Krestovsky Island opening from huge windows.
