No, I probably would not have been able to live in this apartment. And at all not because it is not similar to the usual one-room. I just have a different idea of the space where I would like to live. However, the owners, most likely, also, but they understand that their apartment has its own opinion on this matter ...

... It was an ordinary one-room apartment in a twelve-story panel house, a little more standard in area. The main problem of a small apartment is storage tanks. They take up so much space that the small space becomes even smaller; there is no question of any organization.

Figuratively speaking, the project had a “literary” side: to put a large closet on the floor where one could put things and which would simultaneously become a podium.

Used all the free space, including the balcony. Architects imagined this interior as a peculiar landscape.

I wanted to do something unusual: the owner, Sergey Livnev (a screenwriter by education and director by profession), and his wife, the artist Elena Dobraškus, were fundamentally tuned to the avant-garde apartment.

Sergei. In fact, I wanted something else. During the filming of "Kicks", a certain world began to appear, and when the picture was filmed, there was a desire to live in the like. Not even for artistic sensations, but in theory. How did this come about? The architects invented, painted - the builders did. I interfered as best I could. Not everywhere, however, it turned out. Balcony, for example, broke. They, in general, thought so, but still there was a moment when I perceived everything tragically.

Helen. Balcony is a separate story. In its place, two “places of contemplation” were designed, but since it was close, I had to abandon contemplation and arrange a banal storeroom there. And besides, in order to use such a space for its intended purpose, you need to be Japanese. We do not have such aesthetics: well, who in his apartment will sit in a corner and contemplate?

Sergei. I began to like black and white. We can say that this is in part the merit of the architects.

Helen. And still tired of monochrome. I want such a Mexican apartment - so that all the walls were of different colors, and various knickknacks, carpets, rags, bunches were hanging on them ...

Many have a feeling of unfinishedness, unfinished. They say: “You’ll probably have some wallpaper stuck in a flower here. We like everything, but with wallpaper it will be absolutely good.” It seems to me that this idea "nedo-"subconsciously exists in our country. We don’t talk about each other, but something is present.

Sergei. The most pleasant thing is the reaction of people who come to visit us. The master's vanity is amused. And from a business point of view: if there is a need to accept a person on whom you depend, then it is best to bring him here.

He will immediately unwittingly look upwards, and he will have the impression that he has fallen for an important person.

It is clear that in such an interior can not be random things. If there is a need to purchase any item, you will certainly have to relate it to the interior.

Helen. It seems to me that such a super-individual apartment provides that it will be replaced in two or three years. Now we want to live in another apartment, but also an unusual one. If people went on this way, people would change the interiors, as a state of mind, moving from one apartment to another. As a journey, where housing is no longer a permanent place of stay, but some other, more abstract concept.
