“We collect old buildings,” says Angelo Boscolo, president of the Italian group BOSCOLO, one of the world's largest luxury hotel chains. This spring BOSCOLO opened a new hotel New York Palace in the most beautiful city in the world - Budapest. In the design of the building there are such styles as Renaissance and Baroque

The history of the New York Palace Hotel began with the New York Café, which contemporaries said was the most beautiful cafe in the world. Legend has it that the famous writer Ferenk Molnar, attending the opening of the Café, was so amazed at its magnificence that it threw the keys from it into the Danube so that it would never close. "The New York Palace was built in 1894 by Hungarian architect Alaesh Hausman for the New York insurance company, and coffee magnate Sandor Stoer opened a cafe on the lower floors that immediately became the center of Budapest's intellectual life," says Italian designer Giancarlo Munari, who was involved in the restoration and reconstruction of the building at the request of the BOSCOLO group. - The cream of the world of theater and cinema, famous journalists, writers, artists, including the director of the biographical drama "Private Life Henry VIII" Alex Korda, etc. and the famous composer and author of the immortal "Silva" by Imre Kalman. But the First World War transformed the New York Café in the most beautiful warehouse "in the world.

Seeing the New York Café, Giancarlo literally fell in love with him and immediately agreed to lead the work on his restoration. “We worked for four years,” the architect continues enthusiastically. “The main problem was that the Hungarian government obliged us to fully preserve the historical appearance of the building, including its front. candelabrums to marble on columns. Our restorers performed a miracle by recreating chandeliers and a piece of bronze candelabra from photographs. They managed to restore the original velvet upholstery of the furniture.

But most of all the difficulties we had with the reconstruction of the building itself. It was built in a semicircle - thus forming a small courtyard inside. In an effort to preserve the historic look of the hotel, we did not make any changes to the design of the internal facade. Arches, windows, doors, interior galleries, parapets left where they were. You think that you enter the hall, and in fact you find yourself in a small cozy courtyard, where quiet music sounds, there are tubs with palm trees. And above the head - the blue sky, which is visible through the glass dome. Thanks to the special lighting at night, the dome resembles a flickering starry sky. We sought a dialogue between classic and modern. The interior of the Café has been restored, the spirit of the classics has been preserved here, while the hotel’s rooms are completely modernized and correspond to the canons of modern design. A total of 107 luxury rooms in the New York Palace: 24 Classic, 34 Superior, 22 Deluxe, 21 Junior Suites, 4 Suites and 2 President. The design of the latter was done by the famous architect Maurizio Papiri together with the company LAM LEE. Все остальные номера - это детище G&M COMPANY. В New York Palace, как и во всех отелях группы BOSCOLO, есть великолепный SPA complex. Italian designer Simone Micheli made a SPA in the spirit of a nightclub, the curves of the walls of which resemble waves. The shimmering blue lights and gentle sounds of music carry them into the fragrant realm of bliss and peace. "
