This is not about the villa of Emperor Nero, which bore this name, but about modern palaces, furnished with golden furniture.

Gilding is traditionally used in the decoration of classic furniture. This technique was brilliantly owned by masters of the Renaissance. Furniture makers did not do without it in the 17th and 18th centuries. Modern designers, recreating furnishings, inspired by the prevailing Baroque and Empire, also apply gold trim. Mostly tinsel. It is cut into thin pieces, which are then applied by the master with special brushes on the surface of the object. The process is lengthy and requires special care, and such processing greatly increases the cost of things.

If in jewelry art white or rose gold is considered the most expensive, then in the furniture business the more familiar yellow gold is valued above all. However, nuances are possible here. So, for example, this season, all the factories, without exception, have released collections in champagne color, which is dim, dull, light yellow gold. There was not only furniture of this color, but also accessories (dishes, cutlery, vases), and even doors with such a coating. Of course, I want to furnish classic interiors like that. Golden furniture is perfectly combined with a walnut paperboard, onyx panels and crystal chandeliers and will be appropriate for, say, the main living room.
