Western art recalled the East more than once. The most famous example is chinoiserie in rococo style. In the 19th century, magnificent Oriental-inspired objects were made not only in Chinese and Japanese workshops, but also in Russian factories. Most often Oriental motifs used in the decoration of porcelain. Especially in this succeeded the Imperial Porcelain Factory (now LFZ). The original technology was observed both in the painting and in the enamel coating. But the main feature of the "East" were in the first place the plots themselves. For example, the Chinese behind various occupations — art and science, playing musical instruments, fishing — were necessarily present on every subject claiming to be a characteristic ethnicity.
