“My house is associated primarily with warmth, softness, comfort. I always considered myself an urbanist, but once I got into an old wooden cottage near Moscow built in 1902, I realized that it was some kind of my environment where I plunge into a completely different world, and even time flows here in a special way. The building did not have any architectural merit, but inside was so harmonious atmosphere that at the first opportunity my wife and I bought it. Already living in it, gradually began to reconstruct and restore the original appearance of the house, since the interior was somewhat damaged in the Soviet years. Replaced the furniture of the 30s with objects of the beginning of the century close to the time when the house was built; something was restored by inviting a specialist from the museum of the city of Dmitrov; put a fireplace with tiles, similar to the one that stood here initially.

The main attraction of the interior is the dining table. There is an expression “a prayed place”, and so my table can be called a “literate place”. Ivan Bunin, Andrei Bely, Mikhail Bulgakov, Vikenty Veresaev, Vladimir Gilyarovsky, Irakly Andronikov were sitting at this table, and in general, many legendary people visited it in the long history of the house. I did not learn the style modern specially, rather, everything was done on sensations, on a whim. The highest praise of our efforts with my wife was the phrase of the director of the Dmitrov Museum that our house is both a museum and a residential building at the same time. The main director of the MTYUZ, Henrietta Yanovskaya, who was our guest, said that if you describe the house in one word, it will be “goodness”. At that moment I thought: indeed, indeed, the house was built by a priest, and her words convey the joyful feelings and emotions that our wonderful house gives us every day. ”
