In this apartment the clarity of space is combined with decorativeness, rationality with exquisite imagination. Her style can be called an unintended variation on the theme. Art Deco. Why unintentional - says the author of the project Nikolay Lim

The customer came to us, having on hand already developed planning scheme, and, in our opinion, extremely unsuccessful. We offered him to abandon a number of rooms, unnecessary walls, partitions, corridors, labyrinths and thereby won in the area and achieved spatial clarity. The result was a very free, open-plan public area, where rotunda central hall, living room, bar and kitchen formed a single, almost undivided space.

As for the decor, here we came to a rather concise, but effective solution, built on a combination of white, gold and black. Smooth plastered and painted textured walls, large white and black tile floors, gold floor lamps and black-and-white furniture are the entourage of all formal interiors ... Private rooms are another matter. In the bedroom there is neither pure white nor gold. Here everything is built on nuances, subtle gradations of color ranging from ivory to light ocher. In the office, where we wanted to introduce an element of exoticism, the motive of travel, the color and texture of natural wood, rich bright, warm tones came to the fore.

The image of the apartment was born of itself, since we did not come from the concept, but from the preferences of the owners in choosing individual pieces of furniture and accessories. So, customers liked a few things from RUDE BRAVO: chests with reliefs imitating cracks, brackets for sconces in the form of a Moor's hand, which grows out of the wall in a fantastic way ... These objects, themselves very expressive, should have received some response in the interior. And we came up with a complex suspended ceiling, as if split into two by a gilded niche - a luminous “golden stream” that crosses the entire space of the living room.

Of course, such elements, as well as the black-and-white-gold contrast, and the geometry of space itself are associated with Art Deco. Although this effect turned out to be unintentional: we didn’t set the task to follow this popular style nowadays. He seemed to emerge by itself, gradually, but was in consonance with the mood and character of the owners of the apartment. And if so, then - let it be ar deko ".

Nikolay Lim: "The festive, major tone of this apartment fully corresponds to the nature of its owners ... Of course, working on the design, we tried to set the mood and solved professional tasks - constructive, spatial, stylistic. But the apartment project is always a compromise, the ability to embody the customer’s desires and feelings, without changing own principles. "
