Zaha Hadid Architects erected a metal tunnel at Oxford. The new Investcorp building belongs to the Middle East Center (St Antony's College) and stands on a plot of only 1,500 square meters. m, surrounded by buildings of the Victorian era and the second half of XX century. The university landscape is reflected in polished steel panels. The supporting structure is made of concrete, the floor is made of laminated veneer lumber. The interiors received natural light due to openings in the roof. The lecture halls and reading rooms of the library are located on the underground level.

The center has the main archives of the University of Oxford in the modern Middle East. The archive was created in 1961 and today it contains more than 400 private collections and 100,000 photographs on the history of the Arab world, Iran, Israel and Turkey. Zaha Hadid Architects have actually doubled the space required for the Center. It provides modern conditions for the preservation and management of collections that were previously in the basements of the building on Woodstock Road.
