Under the new museum, the old refrigerated warehouse was reconstructed, built in the early 1920s and located in the immediate vicinity of the famous National Mall, as well as just a few blocks from the Capitol and very close to the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) David Ajaye (David Adjaye), in the design of which was also involved experts from SmithGroupJJR. A massive brick building, almost completely devoid of windows, turned out to be quite a good choice for the demonstration and storage of fragile exhibits, many of which are not suitable for sunlight.

The total area of the eight-story Bible Museum is 40,000 square meters. m, which will house a collection of nearly 44,000 historical artifacts, one way or another connected with the holy book. The owner of the meeting (formed incredibly quickly, in just a few years) and the initiator of the entire project of the exhibition and science center was President of a large company Hobby Lobby David Green.

The entrance to the building is located on the site of the former transport terminal and impresses with its colossal size: it is distinguished by bronze doors, more than 12 meters high, repeating Gutenberg Bible printed plates, and a giant stained glass window depicting a fragment of the scroll of the Prophet Isaiah. The design of the main hall and exhibition spaces promises to be spectacular, narrative and extremely visual. The two-story glass superstructure at the top provides panoramic views of the National Avenue, museums and the Capitol, and also houses theater and ballroom halls. On the operated roof there is a garden and a restaurant.
