Dorte mandrup architects: башня в доках

Danish architects Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter implemented another original project. They built an observation tower in the old port docks of Aarhus, on the coast of the gulf of Aarhus-Bugt. The tower is shaped like an origami and looks like an urban sculpture. “The white steel structure stands out as a luminous landmark and provides a kind of new starting point for this part of the city,” the project’s authors from the Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter bureau say. The structure is made of welded steel plates manufactured at the local shipyard. The observation deck is at an altitude of 7.5 meters. Inside the building is a spacious staircase, which is equipped with seating. The visitor seems to hover above the surface of the harbor, from where a magnificent view of the bay opens up.

Viewing platforms that change the local landscape - a clear architectural trend. In addition to the Norwegian architects who develop the country's tourist routes, high-altitude buildings in the Alps and the Mediterranean coastal promenades, Studio Close to Bone recently created a unique monument in a picturesque place near the Belgian town of Tielt Vinge. And in the UK built British Airways i360 - the thinnest tower in the world, which is fixed to the panoramic capsule with a panoramic view.
