His New York address is Tribeca, a loft on the seventh floor in the historic high-rise building of a former bank overlooking Ground Zero: the construction site of the World Trade Center. Near now is Liberty Park and the hub of Santiago Calatrava (2016). The Daniel and Nina Libeskind spouses settled in New York led to work on the most important project of the Manhattan memorial complex. Libeskind was chosen as the chief designer for the renovation of the World Trade Center. Studio Daniel Libeskind moved its headquarters from Berlin to New York. His former student architect Alexander Gorlin helped him find an apartment for the maitre.

“In Moscow, I was not offered to build. You have an interesting architecture, with a great past, and it would be interesting to work here. In our environment, Moscow is spoken of as a city in which something is happening, although no one can say what it is. ”

From the main deconstructivist’s own apartment, even if it was done not by the master himself, but by his student, many would have the right to wait for strong emotions, some powerful impression, spatial effects. Nothing of the kind - all the rooms are solved according to a single principle: a neutral box with light walls made of plasterboard, filled with design icons of the 20th century. Here are the iconic floor lamp in the form of a searchlight by a photographer Fortuny, Palucco Italia, the work of Le Corbusier, a couch Barcelona by Mies van der Rohe (Knoll International), a chair by Eero Saarinen, lamps by Ingo Maurer. There is no art on the walls, no bookshelves or shelves (the library is located in the studio's office located nearby), which seem to be mandatory for a large architect. The only solemn detail in the whole interior is the floor of Tuscan gray sandstone.
