Stefan dietz: invisible light

The design of the Guise collection was awarded the German Design Award 2018. Its author - German designer Stefan Diez (Stefan Diez) - designed lamps for Vibia, inspired by luminous street signs.

The designer used familiar LED technologies in a new way: in his Guise collection, the light comes from the glass itself, while the source remains invisible.

The surface of borosilicate glass, more durable and resistant to high temperatures, is engraved with the help of robotic cutting technique.

Relief patterns refract and reflect light, making the glass shine. LED strip while hidden in the "seam". And with the lights off, the lamps seem to dissolve in space.

Guise models are equipped with sensors that allow you to reduce the intensity of light by simply raising your hand to the lamp - there is no need to even touch the switch.

The collection includes pendant lamps, “cylinders” of different configurations, as well as a wall model in the form of a disk, which creates the effect of a glowing circle.

Models will be shown for the first time at the Light + Building exhibition (March 18–23, 2018) in Frankfurt.
