Scavolini: practical kitchens and brilliant creative

The Italian factory is a recognized leader in the kitchen segment. Creates hits, thinks about ecology, stakes on design.

Details - by Roberto Gramacchoni.

What designers are you working with?

What does luxury mean to you? High-quality material, Italian handicraft, beautiful design, attention to detail - the sum of these components is what we call luxury.

By what criteria are the products divided? Today in our catalog - furniture for the kitchen, living room and bathroom. Various collections are addressed to the widest range of consumers. There are modern solutions in a bright, impressive design: Diesel Social Kitchen, Foodshelf, Tetrix, LiberaMente, Open - they will please those who follow interior trends. At the same time, Scavolini offers classic programs that are interpreted in a current manner, among them Baltimora, Baccarat, Belvedere.

The most successful collection? For more than 50 years of history, we managed to create a lot of hits. But if you take the last few years, then a good example would be Baltimora. Due to periodic restyling, the program remains in production for more than 10 years, and recently appeared in the bathroom version. I would attribute Crystal, Scenery, Diesel Social Kitchen to the key models of the brand - the last project provided us with access to new circles of buyers, primarily abroad.

Since the policy of Scavolini has always been to create products adapted to the tastes and needs of people from different countries, we offer custom-made models, both for the kitchen and for the bathroom, that are suitable for the Russian market: such that they fit perfectly into rich interiors. However, today the taste and way of life of Russians, first of all the younger generation, are undergoing changes, approaching Western ones. Example - Foodshelf, the original futuristic cuisine of Ora Ito.

What materials do you use? The quality of raw materials, we believe a fundamental factor. Therefore, meticulously choosing suppliers, we use proven, certified materials. We make frames from the Idroleb panels from the Saviola Group: they are 100% composed of recycled wood and almost do not emit formaldehydes: this indicator is below the minimum set by the most severe Japanese standard F ****.

What environmental guidelines do you follow? We have always considered environmental concern a duty. In particular, they launched Scavolini Green Mind, an ambitious eco-oriented project that obliges us to preserve the environment and resources at every stage of production. And in 2011, photovoltaic plants were installed on the roof of most of our facilities, which generate “green” electricity.

The Motus program includes a variety of layouts. Special chic gives it a combination of warm and cold materials.

MOVED

New collection Scavolini - reflection on the social role of modern cuisine. “This is not only a practical cooking area, but also a place for informal communication,” explains the author, designer Vittore Niola. Motus is a modular kitchen with endless personalization options. The individual elements are independent of each other, they are able to carry an independent function, thus their location over time is easy to change. Motus deepens the relationship between the kitchen and the living room - thanks, firstly, to the “non-kitchen” facades without handles, and secondly, to the special modules: various open shelves, current versions of the display cabinet, sideboard, and TV space are provided.

The photo shows the island version, there is also a peninsular and linear. Chairs, stove, hood and sink repeat the shape of the bowl container.

Like

The name of the collection was given by the Japanese character Kii, which means both a container (or bowl), and also a tree. The model was created by designer Okie Sato, head of the studio Nendo. The shape of the container is indeed regularly repeated in design, and there is more than enough wood. All components: facades, sides, plinths, tabletops - are made in a single material in the concept of Total Look. Invented special chairs, hood, sink. There is a version for the bathroom.

LiberaMente, angular composition. Biscotto larch finish and matt gray gabbiano laminate.

FREELY

When working on the program, designers at Vuesse set a goal to provide the architect and his client with maximum freedom. This is reflected in the title: LiberaMente literally means “free consciousness”. Of the various modules of the function, among which there are obvious elements for the living room, you can make countless combinations. An impressive palette of finishes further contributes to the flight of fancy. The base material is eco-friendly Indroleb panels with the lowest possible formaldehyde content.

Open program in elegant version - combination of natural wood and dark composite

OPEN

Another work of the studio Vuesse with a talking title: the Open program is designed for the modern open space of the kitchen-living room. The finishes are exquisite, the configurations are diverse, among the modules included in the collection are storage systems, libraries and shelves for books. Planning decisions suggest the possibility of zoning with the help of furniture - a line of shelving, a table, a peninsula.

The most interesting effect can be created by combining modules of different colors in one Tetrix composition.

TETRIX

Briton Michael Young’s collection created a sensation in 2010. Young proposed for Scavolini an unprecedented program in the trend of the kitchen-living room by the number of combinations. The author was inspired by Tetris, a popular computer game. The collection consists of cubes-modules of 36 x 60 cm in size, the maximum height of the composition is 236 cm. The facade decoration includes 24 color options in glossy or matte versions, which also suggests grandiose possibilities in combinations.

Baltimora's kitchen in elegant white lacquer with laconic gilt inclusions

BALTIMORE

One of the most successful projects of Scavolini, the hit of Russian sales, Baltimora is a good example of rethinking the classics. Traditional elements, such as pilasters, cornices, capitals, are included in a reduced form, the functional equipment corresponds to the level of our time. The facades are available both in natural wood and in varnishing in various colors, from white to black.
