Nilda jose: nest loft

Young architect Nildo José, a graduate of Mackenzie Presbyterian University in São Paulo, clearly states the goal: "Architecture must breathe, tell a story and become a landscape for a happy life." His current project is the Ninho Loft (“The Nest”) at the show of the Casacor decorators in Sao Paulo. Attempt to create an environment that stimulates relationships between people.

Having proclaimed the primacy of the function, Nildo José clearly divided the 80-meter space into three parts: the social zone, the private zone, the kitchen. The active use of wood in the traditions of Brazilian modernists makes the loft warm and friendly, giving it wholeness.

The main material is a board made of European oak brand Oscar Onno Paris, with which the floor, walls and ceiling are finished.

The kitchen, in turn, is divided into three zones, implying three actions: “prepare”, “eat / drink” and “read”. Responsible for the first is a five-meter worktop made of artificial stone from the Caesarstone brand and modules with built-in appliances. On the facades - high-tech coating: the composition of the smallest particles of copper deposited on the surface in a vacuum chamber.

Chairs Almeida Nilda Jose designed with designer Ethel Carmona. The action “read” symbolizes a portal made of Brazilian marble, in which bookshelves are embedded. The “eat / drink” zone is marked by a large white composite table, created especially for the loft: a dining room is on one side, a bar on the other.

Again, the architect has divided the social sector in accordance with three functions: “collect,” “gather,” and “communicate.” In this part of the “nest”, a select nominal design is presented: the Etel design chair by Oscar Niemeyer, the Potence lamp by Jean Prouve, the tables of the Burullek brothers for Vitra, the Febo chair by Antonio Citterio for Maxalto. Modern art, works of Brazilian authors reinforce the impression.

The intimate zone is enclosed in a cube, finished (which is unusual) with ceramic tiles. A comfortable clothes hanger is made in the niche next to the bed. Minimalist mixers look great in the open area of the bedroom.

Nildo Jose mainly works in Sao Paulo, but recently was noted for projects in New York and Los Angeles. Impressions from numerous trips, traditions of different cultures assimilates with Brazilian material. The result: interiors with an international background, but with a Brazilian essence, a stylish, dynamic, friendly environment.

Architect Nildo Jose is interested in design trends and believes in the need to “train” the look.
