The director of the video, John Hillcoat, known for the crime drama “The Most Drunk District in the World” and the post-apocalyptic drama “The Road”, decided to create the effect of transforming the appearance so that the viewer could feel movement through time. Hillcoat was inspired by ancient relics and artifacts of the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City.
