Jaime aion and the family lab at the dutch museum

Designer Jaime Hayon continues to improve the interiors of the Groninger Museum in the Netherlands.

The opening of the new building in 1994 was a real event in the world of architecture and design. One part (silver cylinder) was designed by Philippe Starck, the other (yellow tower) was designed by Alessandro Mendini, and the blue deconstructivist volume was designed by the Austrian bureau Coop Himmelb (l) au. Thanks to the remarkable exhibitions, the Groningen Museum has become one of the most visited in the country and has gained a high reputation throughout the world. In 2010, the interiors of the museum were updated fashion teams. Studio Job has worked on the lobby this is how a mosaic showcase and furniture with images of skeletons appeared. Maarten Baas redesigned the restaurant Mendini, and Jaime Aion got the museum media center with special computer desks, complemented by “hoods”, marble floors and its own ceramic masterpieces displayed on pedestals.

At the end of 2015, the barocco digital master completed the Family Lab zone, changed the color solution (turquoise for a rose) and expanded the space for the youngest visitors. During the week, the lab is available for school groups. On Saturdays and Sundays - seminars (from 12 to 5 pm). In addition, Family Lab hosts receptions, presentations, creative workshops, lectures and chamber performances.

Groningen Museum. The area between the information center and the new Family Lab. In the center is a large vase made by Jaime Iona. Marble floors, large mirrors, pastel colors and ornaments - the interior looks like an object drawn in 3D. The picture of the grid separating the Family Lab zones resembles Jaime Aion’s Face mirror. Information Media Center is well viewed from the Family Lab. Jaime Ayon designed fancy tables lined up in a common ribbon and funny stools especially for the Groningen Museum. For creative activities in the hall there is a sink with a lot of valves.

Smiling stools, spectacular ribbon tables and lamps in the spirit of the station lamps of the times of the Ar Nouveau were designed for the Family Lab. The openwork lattice of the interior repeats the Face drawing - a mirror created especially for the Funtastico exhibition, retrospectives of Jaime Aion, with whom the Design Museum in Holon (Israel) celebrates its fifth anniversary. The exhibition is open until April 30, 2016.
