Ian Callum (Ian Callum, 07/30/1954) is called one of the most influential designers in the UK. For his exceptional contribution to the development of automotive design and as the best in the field of automotive interiors, he received numerous awards, including the prestigious Minerva Medal (after Richard Rogers and Alberto Alessi). Jan has five honorary doctoral degrees from various universities in the world and a title from the British Royal Society of Arts (RSA). In 2015, he entered the registry of the Scottish Motoring Hall of Fame.
Graduated industrial designer Ian Callum was born in the small Scottish town of Dumfries and felt his vocation from childhood. The first sketches of cars he sent to Jaguar at fourteen, with the hope of getting experience in a renowned company. Thirty years later, in 1999, he will take over as director of design for Jaguar, having achieved a lot by this time.

Callum graduated from several high schools: first the Glasgow School of Art in Glasgow, and then the Royal College of Art in London (Royal College of Art) with a master’s degree in auto design. Starting a career in Ford, from 1979 to 1990, Callum managed to work around the world: in the British, Italian, Australian and even the Japanese offices of the company. He participated in the creation of such models as the Fiesta, Mondeo and Puma, as well as sports cars RS200 and Escort RS Cosworth. In 1991, he was appointed chief designer of the British engineering company TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing). By order of the Aston Martin, Callum painted the DB7 coupe, a Grand Turismo class car, which was produced from 1994 to 2004. In parallel, Callum carried out orders for other TWR clients: Volvo, Nissan, Mazda and Holden.
Under his leadership, Jaguar has developed such innovative models as the Jaguar XK, XF and the flagship brand Jaguar XJ.
