“I like working with glass, but for the first time I had a glass blowing experience. I visited the factory and personally studied the entire manufacturing process and even made one copy myself, which is now stored by me. Glassblowing was a creative revelation and inspiration for me. Just imagine: blast furnaces, which are 365 days a year heated to temperatures above 1000 degrees! Being in this workshop is not an easy task, but the people who work there, for several hours a day, for many years, experience high temperatures.
After the hot blast furnaces, the glass is again cooled and then polished and polished to the state of a diamond. The quality of the product is strongly influenced by the process of mixing the ingredients from which glass is made. Preciosa's Perfectly Clear Glass formula is kept secret. ”
Ekaterina Elizarova says that the order was formulated in such a way as to create a design that would be understandable in all countries of the world. “The democratic price (530 euros) for the manual work of production and the uniqueness of each element should also affect the popularity of the products. The collection is customized: you can select and order serif patterns on the glass. The emphasis is on brass base. In the future, the collection will be supplemented with options of bronze and chrome.
The Czech Republic has long been famous for the tradition of glass blowing. In 1548 the Vander family settled in the town of Msheno, establishing a glass-blowing manufactory. The small company began to grow rapidly and soon became one of the leaders in Bohemia’s glass industry. In 1948, twenty-five companies in the cities of Jablonec, Liberec and Turnov merged into the Preciosa group (Preciosa). The company maintains the centuries-old traditions of hand-made glass-making, realizing bold ideas and finding new solutions, including thanks to Russian designers.
