Bolon: three-dimensional floor

The Swedish company Bolon presented the Bolon By You Coatings collection as part of Milan Design Week. The Bolon company has a solid experience of cooperation with famous designers. So, in 2012, a joint collection appears with the French architect Jean Nouvel and the Italian company Missoni. At this Milan show, Bolon’s stand was designed by London-based Doshi Levien studio (Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levin), famous for its experiments with various national artistic traditions.

The brand specializes in vinyl coatings for all types of spaces: private interiors, educational institutions, shops and hotels. Its striking feature is that the vinyl used in production creates the full illusion of a textile surface. Often Bolon products are compared with jacquard fabric.

One of the new patterns presented by Bolon this year is the popular strip. Geometric ornament - one of the design options from Bolon. The relief "woven" covering reminds carpet weaving - from what the Bolon company began the way. Minimalist brand presentation from the London duo Dosha Levin. Intersecting strips of "fabric" from Bolon. The flooring imitates thick fabric with an ornament. Universal coverings Bolon for any interior. Traditionally discreet office coverage. In the Bolon collection there are 12 new colors for original solutions. Bolon proposes to experiment with combinations of surfaces and materials. Often the material resembles the texture of furniture upholstery. A coating that mimics wet spots. The floor is one of the key elements of the interior, setting its overall tone.

This year, the company offers a fundamentally new approach, based on the Bolon To You collection of 6 universal patterns (weaving, mesh, point, lace, geometry, strip), various combinations of which later allow you to create your own compositions in flooring and experiment with their solution, and create a coating with a three-dimensional effect. The name of the collection suggests that the brand appeals to designers and architects of any level, inviting them to realize their creative ambitions with the help of universal Bolon templates. The palette is replenished with 12 new colors.

Annika and Marie Eklund are the third generation of the owners of the Bolon brand.
