Architects - kittens

Pet design is flourishing. Starting with the first collection of Ikea for pets, modular "towers" for cats, an exhibition of the design of cat furniture, and a dog house designed by Zaha Hadid Architects.

American architects supported the trend. For several years in a row, they have been designing cat houses for the Giving Shelter exhibition and auction. The goal is to raise funds for the non-profit organization FixNation, which cares and sterilizes stray cats in Los Angeles (there are almost three million of them, according to official statistics). An online auction was held on the handbid platform.

This year, 12 teams of architects created 13 cat houses, one of a kind. Perkins + Will invented a curved construction for the cat quest, d3architecture - a real maze of pipes covered with insulating film. HKS decided to make friends with their prey cats, crossing the house with nesting boxes. Hok covered the fleece sections to make it softer, and the Knowhow Shop hoisted the house onto a platform of textured wood, which is good for sharpening claws. Stantec mastered the style of Zaha Hadid, and Standard Architecture designed the feline "Marsolet" under the name "Kotosfera".
