New Apparatus Studio collection is one of the most memorable set designs among the brilliant interior projects of Milan Design Week 2017. According to Gabriel Handifar, the 2017 collection is inspired by the first three decades of the last century, a period when modern ideas were asserted. In the center - the Tassel lamp. The history of Apparatus's origin is rather unusual: in the midst of renovating their own apartment, the studio’s founding fathers, dissatisfied with its options, Jeremy Anderson and Gabriel Hendifar, decided to take matters into their own hands. Anderson then worked in the field of PR, and Handifar - in the fashion industry. Soon, invented by them for themselves, lamps made of brass and glass became super demanded. For five years, Apparatus has become one of the most talked-about design studios in the country, with 35 employees, a new showroom has opened in New York, work is moving in chic hotels and restaurants around the world, and online trading is underway. Whimsical and utilitarian, their opuses are both a reflection of retro-addictions, and advanced ideas, and, in general, are extraordinarily elegant.
The first Twig 5 lamp. “We needed a functional lamp to illuminate the paintings in the hall,” Handifar says.

We think that the resulting things can be perceived as artifacts of an unknown time and from an unknown place. Ultimately, it all comes down to creating an emotional reaction that, we hope, captures both the sophisticated design collector and the person who sees something essentially beautiful in the balance of form and material. ”
In 2016, Handifar and Anderson first began experimenting with LED technology. “Our studio was faithful to the warm light of incandescent bulbs, so we are late with the game of LED or we were waiting for the right moment when the LED technology reaches the quality we need,” Handifar says.
