The Kempinski Hotel Moika 22 opened in 2006 in a historic building built in the Nikolayevsky era, in the middle of the 19th century. The designers of Lidia Ukhova’s studio completely renovated the interior, retaining and restoring the beauty of the facade. Rooms of different categories are decorated with objects of art. Something was bought at auctions, something in private galleries: designers sought to give the interior authenticity. But, of course, the main decoration of this hotel is the magnificent views from the windows. It should be borne in mind that he stands on the Moika embankment, literally opposite Palace Square and the Hermitage. Panorama of the center is viewed from the restaurant "Bellevue Brasserie", located on the last, ninth floor. May 1 here just started working summer terrace. The chef of the restaurant, the young Frenchman Christophe Laplaz, masterly cooks both Russian and European dishes, in particular the signature Kamchatka crab salad. (The crab is delivered from Vladivostok by special flight.) The hotel has a whole staff of pastry chefs and chocolatiers. Their works — eclairs, tartlets, marmalades, and financiers (almond cakes) — can be enjoyed at breakfast in the Bo Rivage restaurant, or during traditional afternoon tea in the Tea Room. By the way, on the occasion of the year Literatures menu at the hotel’s restaurants is special. Now there are dishes inspired by French classics, such as marbled beef with creamy polenta, based on “Gargantua and Pantagruel” by Rabelais.
