From March 24 to March 29, the 6th Festival of Architecture and Interior Design "Under the House Roof" was held in the "House on Brest" (2nd Brest, 6). The competition jury was headed by one of the most famous architects in the world, Hans Hollein, who, at our request, gave comments on the best projects.Tatyana Smirnova"An object" The exhibition shows the overall situation in interior design, so we presented projects where architectural problems were solved with the help of decorating techniques. The good news is that the architects and designers finally got their hands on the manufacture of pieces of furniture - this year all the objects for the first time are of very high quality. From architectural projects, we liked the work of the bureau "AS +" - there is nothing to criticize them for.Alexey KozyrARCH4 Already last year, for those works that were presented at the Architectural Award of the SALON magazine, it was clear that public interiors began to outrun residential interiors in quality. This trend is especially noticeable here. From the works at the exhibition I liked the restaurant "Fish Market" bureau of Svetlana Pisarskaya. There is a clear spatial idea in this project: the hall is filled with nets and a lot of air. Mikhail Khazanov"Mansard" The exhibition is moving in the right direction: projects are becoming more interesting and more radical architectural solutions appear than they did last time. The festival "Under the roof of the house" definitely gains status. Of the projects, I like the work of Bureau A-B most of all, I have been following what they do for a long time and with pleasure, and I think that they have become “deserved once” absolutely deserved. Boris Uborevich-BorovskyUB Design We felt that we had serious competitors, and this is confirmed by the results: we did not get the places we expected. But I am very happy for my work: in 2003 this project took the second place in the competition “Arkhip”, and we consider it to be the quintessential essence of our ideas about minimalism style and the principles of creating an interior. In general, I note that the level of work has increased, but for some reason the exhibition has caused less excitement than before.
