Crossing the threshold of the hotel, you find yourself in a fairy tale. Designers from the FZI-Interior bureau were counting on that impression. The mansion, which occupies Château Monfort, was built at the beginning of the 20th century by the architect Paolo Mezzanotte. His most famous work is the Palazzo Mézanotte, Milan Stock Exchange, in the spirit of neoclassicism. The hotel building is earlier and is devoted to the style of the Liberty, the Italian variety of art nouveau. It is, I must admit, quite fussy. But it turned out to be just fine: designer Sophia Joya Vedanis (FZI-Interior) made the excesses the hotel’s ridge. The interior is lush, rich, palace-fabulous. The designer wanted it to be a kind of fairytale castle, lost in the city. In its very center, by the way: from the hotel, close to the Duomo, the main cathedral of Milan, located on its main square.
The decor of the suites is inspired by the famous operas Traviata, Turandot, Madame Butterfly and Bogema, and the interiors are as good as theatrical decorations. Special attention was paid to the bathrooms, fully decorated by the Italian company.
