Ricardo Bofill, who holds the position of postmodernism, became famous for social housing projects implemented in France. Working on the W Barcelona hotel, the flagship hotel of the W HOTELS chain, he can be said to have returned to basics: he was born in Barcelona, ​​and his first buildings were a reinterpretation of Catalan architecture. In this object, he tried to reflect the spirit of the city, and in its current state, with its contrasting architecture, boiling, rich rhythm of life and, of course, the sea. “For me, the building starts from the place where it will be built,” says the architect. - And in this case was the same. I just stood on the pier and looked at the sea, and it had an effect on me that when I came home, I came up with the basic concept of this project almost an hour later. He received the name La Vela - "Sail". This building as it defies the elements and at the same time is generated by it ”. Thanks to such a “sailing” configuration from the rooms, restaurants and even the SPA of the hotel a panorama of sea distances opens up. Inside the building is dominated by an open layout. The impression of a light, spacious interior is created through the widespread use of glass and a light, ocher-turquoise-pink gamut.

The hotel is significant for several reasons. So, here is the restaurant of chef Carlos Abellan - Bravo24. This is a well-known name: in Barcelona, ​​Carlos already has several restaurants, including one Michelin laureate. He, as is now fashionable, has his butchers and greengrocers. Abellan stands for a simple kitchen. But everything is not so simple in it: for each meat dish, for example, he not only comes up with his dressing, but also picks up wood to throw in the oven on which he cooks. The fact is that each tree has its own smell, and Abellan believes that this affects the flavor of the dish. On the top, 25th floor of the hotel, the British company Ignite group, which owns the famous London club Boujis, opened a lounge bar and a night club Eclipse. And finally, the SPA center of the American brand Bliss, which produces the same name cosmetic line. It offers massages, wraps and special programs with which you can simulate the ideal body shape.
