The windows of the house, which the architect Brigitte Gonfreville-Dumont has built for herself, overlook the endless ocean of greenery, and its glass facade and pool water seem to be competing, “playing,” reflecting each other. The sun penetrates every corner of this house: when designing light, the sun was given special attention. House Brigitte, located on the bay near Bordeaux, has a simple rectangular shape and looks like a wide transparent corridor, surrounded on all sides by greenery. The two glass walls against each other create the illusion that the whole building merges with the perspective of the surrounding landscape. The flat roof with two “wings” on the sides clearly defines the boundaries of the central part of the house with an area of 120 square meters - this is where the dining room, living room and study are located - and ends with a slight bend over the facade overlooking the bay. Behind the glass wall there is a backyard garden flooded with sunlight. A peculiar visor of cuts of dense white fabric hanging from the roof visually lengthens the house and casts a shadow on the concrete terrace. Decorated with several trees and bushes, equipped with a dining table and canapes woven from reeds, in the summer it serves as a seating area hidden from direct sunlight with snow-white awnings. Light plays a special role in the interior of the terrace. It is transformed, modified, casting light shadows on white concrete. All windows have a wonderful view of the surrounding landscape. Being simple and elegant at the same time, this house creates a wonderful atmosphere for everyday life. The "transparent house" as if created from light, sun and greenery - created by nature itself. Whereas this is a talented work of an architect.
