The grunge style was born in the mid-1980s in Seattle as an underground musical movement. He was glorified first of all by the Nirvana group with Kurt Cobain's hysterical texts. Subsequently, such a direction appeared in fashion, and now — in the interior.
Grunge implies freedom from all sorts of conventions, deliberate negligence and seemingly non-binding. In fact, there are rules here too. In interior design, emphasis is placed on brutal surfaces, rough textures, raw materials and “natural” colors — colors of the earth (sand and other shades of brown, “dusty” gray). This is aesthetics of casual, but especially modern. In such interiors it will be strange to look at antiques. Only a pair of vintage items from the 1950s – 60s is acceptable.
