Tchaikovsky (Bessarabskaya Square, 2), one of the most "advanced" clubs in Ukraine, is very similar to the Palace of Pioneers. Massive crystal chandeliers and walls covered with poisonous yellow silk, an old piano and wide flight of stairs ... This is what the entourage of the Club of Lonely Hearts from the movie “Moscow Doesn't Believe in Tears” is recalled. dances. So, smiling ironically, savoring the details, modern Kiev says goodbye to our common interior past. Reminiscence done in a big way: giant chandeliers made by special order in Italy, while dancing they glow neon. Ergonomic forms of chairs and sofas refer, of course, to the design of the sixties, but this is what makes them very fashionable today. You do not need to be a connoisseur to look more closely at the objects that made up the interior of Tchaikovsky, to understand that they are somewhat closer to high design than to the palace and pioneer aesthetics. This is because Tchaikovsky is not designed as a public institution - rather, as a loft, the owner of which is not without historical memory and sense of humor. Beautiful and symbolic in this sense, the accent is an empty frame at the entrance. To casual visitors, it may seem like a flirt, an unnecessarily direct gesture. But regular guests know: for now, for the time being, they simply have not picked up a worthy portrait of a Russian composer, the author of the longest and most pacifying screensavers in the history of television.
