Moscow apartment designed by architect Dmitria Yakimova - light, elegant, thin. This is especially true of home cinema, in whose design the tone is set by acoustic systems - thin and light until transparent.

Technique today tends to become even thinner: it suffices to recall the latest models of mobile phones, laptops, and plasma panels. In this series stand alone electrostatic speaker systems of the brand MARTIN LOGAN, the creators of which managed to bring the idea of subtlety to its apogee. Instead of traditional cases, the "electrostat" is practically immaterial, openwork frames with the thinnest emitting membranes. Such high-end speakers not only look, but also sound great: the membranes are almost weightless, so they instantly respond to the smallest changes in musical fabric.

This interior was not planned specifically for columns (although it happens that a separate thing gives rise to a whole interior concept). Everything turned out somehow by itself. Plasma panel, for example, demanded such a specially invented author stand, trimmed with wood veneer. The home theater equipment is recessed into the wooden panel of the rack, making the plasma even thinner than it actually is. The rack is fixed on the wall with hidden fasteners, and so that it seems even lighter, the architect illuminates it around the perimeter with fluorescent lights. Below, the author has placed a long row of low CD cabinets, which are also (thanks to the backlight) facilitated to the extreme. And if the whole composition corresponds to the function of the traditional “wall” in the living room, it differs significantly from it. Here, it seems, everything is floating in the air: the plasma panel, the speakers, and the furniture itself.

The dining room is located right there in the open space of the living room - home cinema. The large table was installed so that the people sitting behind it could see the screen well, and, on the other hand, not far from the kitchen, which is located directly behind the wall. And if the living room area is organized by a cozy sofa and a coffee table, the dining area is a table and chairs. Color unites space: for example, the upholstery of the chairs exactly fits to the tone of the sofa upholstery and at the same time to the tone of the plaster. A plasterboard ceiling, a floor without thick carpets, and a glass table in terms of acoustics may not be perfect at all. Nevertheless, the equipment was tuned in accordance with the sound characteristics of the room, and it sounds great. The main thing is to live here, and to watch movies the owners like it.
