Details in modern style can revive a classic interior, give it a serenely relaxed character, says the head of MMSALON Interior Turnkey, the author of the project Mikhail Gubakin

Mikhail Gubakin: “I appreciate the interiors made in the genre of pure classics, but I think that the more interesting are the works of architects, in which there is a share of eclecticism. Spectacular modern detail is able to breathe life into the classic interior, give it a secularly laid-back character. Here, for example, in a Moscow apartment for our project (the authors of the project are Anna Spektor and Mikhail Gubakin. - Red.) A mosaic with an ornament of very large pansies on a golden-yellow background was used as such a detail. It decorates the wall of the bathroom and the surface Victorian foot baths in the form of paws. Modern mosaic contrasts with the classic shape of the bath, and the room acquires a special charm.

We will not find the motive of pansies anywhere else (it would be a brute force). But, for example, in the dining room there are chairs mixed with different upholstery, and two of them are burgundy in color, just to match the mosaic. However, they echo in color with curtains. There are bright details. So, on the ceiling in the open space of the living-dining room, we combined the classic caissons and fixtures- "tablets" by design Jacques Garcia. In the sofa area - a crystal chandelier with pendants. We used the same technique in the nursery. There are two chandeliers on the ceiling: modern and classic. It is interesting that within the framework of such an approach, when classic and modern things are purposely combined, each of them can look like a bright detail ... In general, the interior turned out to be comfortable and harmonious (this was our general task). I think it all happened because our company led the object entirely and was responsible for everything: we had the project, construction and decoration in our hands, we created cabinet furniture according to our own production drawings, and also picked up luxury furniture. And finally, they decorated the interior with textiles and accessories. ”
