Solid title: Chimney Club International. Stylish facade neatly inscribed in Pokrovka. This is his face, his style, his handwriting. Classic lines - reliability and peace of mind. A gentlemen's club is a fortress where the only window is a tiny peephole lens, gazing haughtily at the idle What makes up our idea of the subject? First of all - from our personal impressions. Then from what he heard from others, from what he read in books and newspapers. Of course, when it comes to the historically established type of building or interior, it is desirable to be guided by personal impressions and other sources. And if we are talking about an English club? There is not enough simple reading of Dickens, Conan Doyle or English newspapers. And you will not get away with a short visit to London, and a cursory visit to a couple of "clubs for gentlemen." We must be inspired by the spirit reigning in London clubs, study their history, look at their present day. Only then it will be possible to take up the creation of the Russian version of the English club. Fortunately, this phenomenon has its own history in Russia, since the days of Griboyedov. And at the same time, it is clear that the current "English club" should look different than it was a hundred and fifty years ago. Marble columns, weighty and light at the same time, almost hang above the arch of the lower floor, and the arch distributes the load on the supporting walls. Tables on a small catwalk, the diffused light of unusual sconces, sofas with soft smoky upholstery - the apparent color and style restraint conceals an endless variety, skillfully used by a person with impeccable taste. From an interview with architect Denis Fadeev:- "Chimney Club International" is how we imagined an English club. When he opened his doors for the guests, I visited the real English clubs and saw how true our presentation was and how different it was from the original. Old clubs are interesting by a large number of the most diverse things that gradually accumulate there, settle down, become integral parts of the interior. For example, an old revolver, which has been hanging on the wall for decades, becomes, as it were, a participant in some kind of action, it acquires a painterly look from time to time. After all, every member of the club at least once, but touched him with his fingers. - Is delight appropriate in this case? Hardly, yes, to his honor, no. There is a calm mind of successful work. Almost from scratch, we had to create a new image, a new type of space, in order to convey the spirit of the old English club.
