For the construction of this mansion in the village of Yukki near St. Petersburg, a site was chosen, located on a high hill, from which all the surroundings are clearly visible. In the evening, when it gets dark, from here you can admire the cold electric lights of the evening city.

To architects Tatyana and Alexey Yershov the task was to create a spacious mansion, the residence of the executive class, designed for two generations of the family, who could live in comfort, enjoy the opportunity to communicate with nature and not interfere with each other. According to the architects, the style of the house was originally supposed to be classical, but in modern sound and with all the latest technical advances. “In this project, we used the styles of the first half of the last century, not referring to any particular, but rather focusing on their continuation and development,” says Tatyana Ershova. - Therefore, along with modern, you can see elements of constructivism, modern, ar-deko, the so-called Stalinist style. To give the interior the flavor of time, we chose antiques that were painstakingly collected while the residence was being built. ”

The interior of the mansion is subject to the imperious logic of architecture. The inner space is divided into a central part and two wings. On the second floor are the bedroom, bathroom and dressing room of the owners, as well as the office of the hostess, bedrooms, dressing rooms and children's bathroom. On the first floor there is a hall with a dressing room and a bathroom, a living room with a kitchen-dining room with a summer terrace and a study room of the owner of the house. On the ground floor there is a swimming pool, a cinema, a gym, a sauna, a hammam, a shower room, a laundry room and three storage rooms. Next is a separate unit for the older generation of the family, consisting of two bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. This unit is provided with a separate exit to the garden. The living room is the center of the residence. The architects have created a spacious two-level room, bright and harmonious, with a panoramic view. The height of this room is seven meters, and the area is about 100 square meters. Mirror doors of most rooms open onto the living room. Details of black color, for example, a chimney panel made of plaster pyramidal elements, a staircase and two contrasting belts on the walls, are used for additional expressiveness or to improve the proportions of the room. "Black and white exist together as night and day, light and dark, plus and minus," notes Tatyana Ershova. - It seems to us that this combination does not age and does not bother. In addition, there is no more advantageous background for antiques than the harmonious unity of contrasting black and white. ” The work of the Yershovs' tandem pleasantly surprises with its multiplicity and ambiguity. According to the authors of the project, they were inspired by the architecture of St. Petersburg, especially the Petrograd side and Moscow Avenue, the buildings of the French Riviera, the works of American architects of the first half of the 20th century. This “multicultural enzyme” is undoubtedly present in the interior concept of the mansion, demonstrating the ability and, most importantly, the desire of architects to rethink traditions.

Tatyana Ershova: “The concept of the project is based on a variety of styles. However, we tried to adhere to strict lines without excessive decoration. We would call the style of our object a modern classic. ”
