Peterburger Alexander Yakovlevich Gordin has been designing for nearly twenty years. Gordin's first hobby was jewelry. At that time, interesting events took place in Leningrad. For example, the exhibition "Jewelry Plastic", which left a mark in the history of Soviet applied art. The creative growth of Alexander Yakovlevich in the literal sense of the word was reflected in the scale of his work: gradually the dimensions created by Gordin increased. By the way, the shop window of the note book, which is next to the House of Books, is one of the few remaining on Nevsky Prospect. Among its authors was Gordin. The muses floating above the camp are impressive, but on the model hanging in the artist's studio, they are even more expressive than in the display case. However, both are beautiful and poetic. Today Gordin is engaged in designing interiors, filling them with author's things, surprisingly unlike each other. See for yourself by comparing this watch. Some are extremely laconic, but at the same time they have a delicate romantic image: the arrows are curved so that they resemble two bird wings. Time flies - and the wings are straightened, then folded. Others are made of glass and show time in several time zones. From bottom to top, the glass fragments are reduced, and, thanks to a mirror hardened on the ceiling, it seems that time is being carried to infinity. According to Gordin, the harmony of function and form should be achieved in the most concise way. However, in contrast to minimalism, his stuff is warm. They always have an interesting image, or, as Alexander Yakovlevich puts it, some kind of "idea." And the words of the designer are not at variance with the case: his work is a clear confirmation of this.
