To the designer Natalia Ulanova I liked this penthouse right away: behind the huge windows there is a stunning view of the sea, and in good weather the island of Sicily is visible from the terraces ... It was a pleasure to work on the interior located in such a beautiful place

The customer, a Swiss by birth, has long enjoyed the island of Malta. Beautiful architecture, a special island culture and a very good location - between Europe and Africa. The weather is almost always good, the sea is calm, the picturesque coast. Direct flights, the road to Geneva takes only two hours. Not far from the capital of Malta - Valletta - is the town of St. Julians, known for its high-class hotels and yacht clubs. One of the most interesting complexes built here lately is Portomaso. This is where the penthouse in question is located. The customer bought it immediately, as soon as they announced the start of construction of the complex, choosing apartments with sea views and deciding to settle thoroughly in Malta. The Portomaso complex is an extension - a continuation of the Hilton hotel and includes a business center, apartments, a private beach, and a yacht club. On a yacht to Sicily and Sardinia - within reach. Weather permitting, Sicily is visible from the terrace, which is adjacent to the apartment.

The area of the apartments themselves - 200 square meters. meters, plus a hundred-meter terrace. When you go out on it, it seems that it is even more than the interior. Now they have made a roof over the terrace, which protects from rain in winter and from sun in summer. There is so much sun here that you have to hide from it.

There are only three rooms in the apartment: the master bedroom, the guest bedroom, and the kitchen-living room-study combined into one spacious room. There are also two bathrooms and a dressing room. When the designer Natalia Ulanova They invited me to work on this project, the layout here was somewhat different, there were many difficult and uncomfortable corners that had to be fought. As for the style of the interior, he loomed, in the words of the designer, somehow by itself. “When you come to the island, you find yourself in a beige-sand kingdom; here everything is built from one stone,” Natalya Ulanova says. the rocks are cut into pieces and houses are built of them. The stone industry is developed here as well as furniture production is developed in Italy. So we had to carry almost everything from Italy and France. It’s good that the customer gave me a blank check when working on the interior. his trust protected us from many possible problems, in the end he was very pleased with the interior, and I - a creative and positive work. "

Natalia Ulanova: “I didn’t want to do anything super-modern in this 300-square-meter apartment, but there was no desire to turn it into a museum. I decided to create an interior just as a decent frame for the view from the windows.

Opinion of the customer "I first came to Malta 16 years ago. Every year I came here on business, and then I just came to rest. And when I saw the project of Portomaso complex, I realized that I had to buy apartments here. I wanted to have a beautiful Mediterranean-style apartment, and a yacht nearby. I am very grateful to the designer Natalia Ulanovawhich created such a beautiful living interior that breathed life into these walls. "
