The building at 57 Nevsky Prospect and adjacent buildings in 2002 was acquired by INTERNATIONAL HOTEL INVESTMENTS P.L.C. (IHI), which also owns hotels in Budapest, Prague, Lisbon and other cities (all, like St. Petersburg, - under the brand CORINTHIA). Corinthia St. Petersburg is the first Russian project of IHI.

The main building on Nevsky, 57, has a solid hotel history. To begin with, the hotels were located here for years: in 1920-1950 it was the Hermes hotel, then turned into the Baltic, and later into the Nevsky Palace, which became after some time the Sheraton. It all began with the St. Petersburg apartment buildings: in one of the buildings that now belong to the Corinthia St. Petersburg Hotel, the famous Samoilov dynasty lived in the 19th century. By the way, during the reconstruction in the depths of the complex, we found a place for the Samoilov memorial apartment museum.

The reconstruction has touched all the buildings of the hotel (currently there are two of them, but they promise an addition in the future: at the end of the year, the Nevsky Plaza business center will open in the building on Nevsky Prospekt). The neoclassical facades, designed at the end of the 19th century by architects Augustus and Martin Lange, were renovated. Elegant interior created by the British company GA Design International. Special attention was given to the most luxurious hotel room - the royal suite. The hotel’s foundation has been replenished with 107 executive class rooms and now stands at 388 rooms.

Conceptual owners decided to make the kitchen of the hotel. The main restaurant, Imperial, serves Mediterranean dishes created by French chef Thierry Vernio.
