As a rule, financiers make their offices in the classic English style - with wooden panels, with a fireplace, with a “battery” of unread books and a massive “ministerial” table, on which nothing stands apart from a laptop. Mikhail Loktionov, one of the founders of the Cosmos Bank, admits that before meeting with
The decorator invited the banker to go beyond the stereotypes and make a truly personal cabinet, reflecting the philosophy of its owner. “We just talked about life, discussed those ideas that seemed interesting to me. During the conversation appeared on the throws, some images. They talked about Borges, his symbols of the Labyrinth and the City of the Immortals, about the novel “The Name of the Rose” by Umberto Eco, about the concept of the City of Earth proposed by Aurelius Augustine. All this is reflected in the interior, but, of course, it cannot be said that in direct, literal form, ”says the owner of the office.
In the design of the cabinet is also present the theme of Venice, the fragile city, the city of illusions and reflections. The image can be interpreted more literally, because Loktionov loves the expanses of water. In his youth, he was engaged in sailing, and now owns his own yacht club "Avangard". The sea theme in the interior is supported, in particular, by an antique furniture set from St. Petersburg, which the owner calls the admiralty. Loktionov philosophically notes that his office is a large-scale decoration. “It seems to me that any house is a decoration. When we build houses with porticoes, columns and caryatids in Moscow region, aren't these decorations? It is important who made the interior and whether these decorations are suitable for the actor, ”he says.
