Architect Maxim Doroshko talks about "theatrical" techniques in the interior - about bright colors, playing with perspective, unusual details

Maxim Doroshko: “I love theatrical interiors, bright, not boring. For example, in the case when there is a small entrance hall in the apartment, and redevelopment is impossible, I would suggest to put in the hall wardrobes with doors made of contrasting varieties of wood, wenge and ash. STYLE ORNAMENT AR-DEKO, RELATED TO THE WINDOWS OF A MULTILEVAL HOUSE, HOW WOULD THE CABINET SURFACE CRUMBLE and visually increases the area of the hall. And all this is reminiscent of theatrical scenery.

In theatrical interior, you can use bright Venetian plaster and intricate finishes with gilding and silvering; fantasy furniture made of exotic wood, draperies that look like theater curtains, and unexpected details, for example GARAGE FOR THE CURTAIN IN THE FORM OF A WOMAN'S HAND WITH FINGER ON FINGER OR CARNIVAL MASK. But such details should not be too much.

Excellent reception - jewelry grates above the doorways. At one of its facilities I HAVE USED A DECORATIVE MOTIF FROM RYABUSHIN'S TOWNHOUSE FOR A FORGED GRID - STILIZED WAVES. And for another, where there was a different interior story, a romantic one, I designed white wooden lattices in an empire style, like in Onegin's estate. Such a technique successfully emphasizes the ceiling height, visually “shortens” the corridor and, most importantly, denotes the status of the interior. ”
