The interior of a Moscow apartment designed by architects Elena Franchyan and Boris Matveev combined the expressive decorative features of Art Deco and the functionality of modern style.

Why did you stop on such a style decision? Elena Franchyan: The wish to fulfill the interior in the art-deco style came from our customers. The owners of the apartment were inspired by the works of the classics of this trend: glass from Rene Lalique, bronze by Edgar Brandt and furniture by Emile-Jacques Roulmann. They saw the future interior as a synthesis of the traditions of the art-deco and the functionality characteristic of the modern style, and after the publication of one of our projects in a similar vein in the SALON-interior magazine they turned to us.
