Заказчики, люди смелые и творческие, видели интерьер своей квартиры в строгом и лаконичном современном стиле, но также хотели включить в него интересные и яркие классические акценты… В итоге квартира получилась лёгкая, воздушная и одновременно тёплая и уютная благодаря классическим элементам, которые здесь сочетаются с лаконичными, минималистскими решениями: строгие перегородки из стекла и полированного металла соседствуют с тёплым ониксом и с золотым кружевом венецианских зеркал, стеновые панели из венге и современная модернистская архитектура разбавлены полотнами художника эпохи итальянского Возрождения и ажурными формами барочной мебели»

Некоторые Ваши проекты отличаются эпатажной, избыточной стилистикой, где много лепнины, многодельного декора, золота, вензелей. Не перегружен ли этот интерьер слишком богатым декором? Igor Sushkov: По моим наблюдениям, людям хочется праздника, фейерверка, ярких эмоций. Особенно это важно в нашем вечно сером, промозглом Санкт–Петербурге, где одиннадцать месяцев в году—зима. Мы живём в таком климате, который волей–неволей заражает хандрой и пессимизмом. Обязательно нужен источник, который давал бы позитивные, положительные эмоции. Я и сам раньше был сторонником строгих решений, но со временем пришёл к тому, что интерьер обязан быть многослойным, многосмысловым, нелинейным. Чтобы это не было так однозначно и плоскостно. В этом плане Санкт–Петербург в определённой степени влияет на интерьер. Дворцы, набережные, творения Растрелли—так или иначе город, его история накладывают опечаток на интерьер. В случае с этим проектом квартира находится по соседству с Таврическим садом и Смольным собором, и, без сомнения, нужно было учитывать окружение, исторический контекст. Кроме того, владельцы просили добавить в строгий, лаконичный интерьер яркие стилистические акценты и детали в виде золочёных зеркал, люстр из муранского стекла, дизайнерской мебели и необычных аксессуаров.

SALON: Interesting planning solutions have been implemented here: transparent glass partitions separate the bedroom, bathroom and bathroom. The dressing room is also visually connected with the bedroom: it is located at the head of the bed behind a wall of glass. What are the reasons for such decisions? - A married couple lives in this apartment. These are already adult people. Their daughter grew up and moved to Moscow. They live, as they say, for their own pleasure, and they have the opportunity to realize some bold and unusual ideas, even to fool a little. And the fact that the bathroom and the bedroom will be separated by a glass door, was expressed by them at the very beginning of work on the project. I have finalized these solutions. In general, such ideas are characteristic either for very young people, or for people who have taken place in life, who are not burdened with domestic, family, and children's problems. At this age it happens that people buy a convertible, bright clothes, they no longer pay attention to the opinions of others, can afford everything, including shocking, provocative things.

S: In your opinion, which element of the interior — for all its complexity; the most important, the one on which the image rests? And is he at all? -Yes there is. These are reproductions of the painting of the Renaissance artist Paolo Uccello “The Battle of San Romano”. She is a definite leitmotif — stylistic and attitudes. In terms of organization, the apartment is open, the rooms flow into one another, and some fragments of the picture placed on the walls emphasize the unity of the interior, the integrity of its image. These reproductions are one of the most impressive things here. The plot was chosen by the customers themselves. They travel a lot, and when they were in Florence, in the Uffizi Gallery, they really remember this work. When they expressed their desire to use it in the project, I fully supported them in this, since it is the battle scenes that work very well in the interior. They give a certain amount of expression and at the same time are more neutral than, for example, modern art. And in addition it is a great classic painting!
